In this tutorial we look behind the magic curtain at the safety systems in use on the Amtrak ACS-64 electric locomotive used on the North East Corridor. The same information will work for other locomotives equipped with Automatic Train Control System (ATCS) and Advanced Civil Speed Enforcement System (ACSES) safety systems. Now that I've figured them out I always run with them on and it keeps your stress levels up by adding realism to the driving experience.
