Former President Donald Trump blasted a limited gag order a federal judge issued against him Monday in the Washington, D.C., criminal election interference case. Trump claimed the gag order was "so unconstitutional" and that his team would appeal the order during a campaign event in Adel, Iowa, Monday afternoon and just mere hours after his campaign spokesperson called the order "an absolute abomination."
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich predicted Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) will be elected new House speaker on Tuesday because "this is not a time for the House Republican Party to look childish and in disarray." The once-Georgia representative was speaking on Hannity about how he feels the battle for the House's top leader will shake out, as Jordan is in the driver's seat for the position but still doesn't have the requisite votes.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) pointed her finger at fellow New York House lawmakers ahead of an expected vote to elect Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) as speaker, asking whether the Republicans from her state in the chamber will "actually vote to install a man who voted to overturn the United States's election." Ocasio-Cortez told CNN she had no regrets in voting to oust former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) from the position, adding, "It has never been, truly, within the integrity and history of this institution for one party to elect another party's member as speaker."
