Here I am sharing the recipe for a super delicious Dhaba Style Dal Makhni with minimal ingredients.
Dal Makhni (Dhaba Style)- Dal Makhani Recipe - ढाबे जैसी दाल मखनी - दाल मखनी रेसिपी - Dal Makhani
Cooking Instructions:
1. If we are making the Dal Makhni in Dhaba style, try to boil in an open heavy bottom pan or vessel instead of pressure cooking it.
2. It is a time consuming process but cooking it in a pressure cooker will make the peel come out which can disturb the creamy texture if dal. (Though pressure cooking is always an option in case you need it quickly☺)
3. Let cook patiently for around 1-2 hours at a low flame to get the actual dhaba style taste.
4. Keep stirring the dal occasionally to avoid getting sticking to the bottom.
6. You can add 1/4 cup kidney beans or rajma but I have not used it in this recipe.
7. Try not to use onions in the recipe, use a lot of tomatoes instead in the form of puree.
8. If you feel that the consistency of dal has become thick, add some water or milk to dilute it.
9. Wash it thoroughly 5-6 times and soak it minimum 4 hours or overnight.

200 gms whole urad dal
3 medium tomatoes pureed
1/2 teaspoon cumin seed
1cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf
1 black elaichi
1 teaspoon chopped garlic
1 teaspoon chopped green chillies
1.5 cups milk
1tbsp fresh cream
1tbsp oil
1tbsp butter
fresh coriander leaves
water as needed
