Gorakhpur Link Expressway, is under construction 91-kilometre-long (57 mi) expressway in state of Uttar Pradesh. It will connect Gorakhpur and Purvanchal Expressway. The expressway will require 1,073 hectares (2,650 acres) of land and will cost ₹5,876 crore to build.
Updated status of Gorakhpur expressway project
Total length of fully access controlled 04 lanes expressway is 91.352 KM.
Approved project cost – Rs. 5876.67 Crore (Including Land cost).
Starting point: Jaitpur (District-Gorakhpur) bye pass.
Ending Point: Salarpur (District Azamgarh) at Purvanchal expressway.
Districts falling on expressway – 1. Gorakhpur, 2- Azamgarh, 3- Ambedkarnagar, 4- Sant Kabir Nagar
Project has been divided into 02 packages for implementation.
Project developers have been selected and letter of intents have been issued. Constituting the contracts is in process.
77.23% land out of total required land for the project has been acquisitioned till 23.12.2019.
Environmental approval and NOC from Department of Forest is in process.
In order to convey and carry the cultural and commercial values from Gorakhpur to Azamgarh and vice-versa, government has decided to construct this Link Expressway. The Gorakhpur Link Expressway will provide faster connectivity and better commuter experience as well as help in getting the population of affected areas closer.
Salient Features Of Gorakhpur Link Expressway
Starting Point- Near village Jaitpur (NH-27) at Gorakhpur bye pass.
End Point- At Chainage 190+855 of Purvanchal Express Way.
Estimated Total Length - 91.35 kms
Estimated Travel Time - 4:30-5:00 Hours
ROW - 110 Meters
Carriageway - 4 lanes (expandable upto 6 lanes) but all will be constructed as per 6 lanes.
Provision of Service Road
Districts Covered - Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh
Total Access Controlled Expressway
Provision for Underpasses for Vehicles, Pedestrians and Animals.
