Usually you have to use an external capture card such as the Elgato CamLink to capture the HDMI signal of the Sony Alpha A6500. But with this method you don't need to buy an Elgato CamLink Capturecard. Simply connect your Sony Alpha Camera via USB to your computer and start the Sony Imaging Edge Application to remote control your Sony A6500 and other cameras.

The remote application will show you a Preview of the Sony Alpha Camera that is connected via the USB connection to your computer.

With this easy method you can use any Sony camera as a USB Webcam.
