This is a video on how to stop your african pygmy hedgehog  from going into hibernation featuring Teazel. Unlike wild hedgehogs, african pygmy hedgehogs are not equipped to hibernate. Their metabolism does not slow down enough for them to survive the hibernation period. If an african pygmy hedgehog goes into hibernation it can die of hypothermia, starvation, or both. African pygmy hedgehogs need a temperature of 72-80 degrees Fahrenheit to be comfortable. This video shows a few ways to warm your hedgie back up if he/she is showing any signs of a hibernation attempt.

In case people didn't know, the African pygmy hedgehog is a domesticated species of hedgehog. They are not like the wild hedgehogs that roam around in the UK and other regions of the world.
