Almost thirty years ago Ros lost her dad to suicide. She shares her experience and tells us why being part of the United to Prevent Suicide movement is so important to her. Ros is a member of @SuicidePrevScot's Lived & Living Experience Panel. This group advises on the development of suicide prevention strategy and its implementation in practice. All members have some sort of link to suicide, either the loss of a loved one, attempting on their own life, or having a friend or relative who has attempted. She became part of the panel after initially getting involved in United To Prevent Suicide. United to Prevent Suicide is for anyone who is passionate about preventing suicide and building the most supportive country in the world. This work is led by Suicide Prevention Scotland, the community of people and organisations working together to deliver the Scottish Government and COSLA’s joint strategy, Creating Hope Together. The social movement work is jointly managed by Public Health Scotland and SAMH. Importantly, United to Prevent Suicide is not just a name or a logo. It’s a movement bringing people together with a shared belief that we can prevent suicide. ==== Our YouTube channel features content that some viewers may find distressing.
