Flammable Magnesium Bar Crushed In Hydraulic Press | Bright White Magnesium Fire!

In this video I crush a bar of pure magnesium metal in a hydraulic press. I first show hot to use a magnesium fire starter to light magnesium on fire with flint and magnesium shavings. The magnesium metal is surprisingly explosive when it is crushed in the hydraulic press. My favorite part about this crush is watching the magnesium deform and get fatter right before it explodes. Then, after it is crushed it made some nice thin bars of magnesium that I then light on fire. It creates a brilliant white light! I talk about how you can use other metals to light on fire as well as long as they have enough surface area. I use steel wool to and a leaf blower to make an awesome stream of sparks as the steel wool oxidizes.
