One of My Favorite Pelican Kayaks

My first kayak was a toy by all definition. Certainly not meant for fishing. Yet I took it to the max and caught lots of fish from it. Nowadays, I am lucky enough to have kayaks that don't need all the crazy modifications that my first yak did. Pelican makes some incredible fishing machines like the Catch series boats, but somehow I find myself drawn to a couple of recreational kayaks that they offer that were never meant for anglers. The Getaway, which was never intended to be fished from, is my favorite. But for half the price and half the weight, the Argo 100 is a surprise second place. It is an astonishingly capable kayak. And the older I get, the more I like it simple. Easy to lift. No drive to increase the draft. Etc. Etc. The Argo 100XR has all the ease of a small, simple kayak and a wonderful seat to keep you dry and comfortable all day. Sorry to sound like a commercial, but this little gem deserves all the praise it gets. As a one-time kayak dealer, I know Pelican would rather me sell the high-end kayaks that fetch higher profit margins, but the truth is that you don't have to spend a lot to get out on the water and have a great time...FISHING! Even if it's a recreational kayak.
I gave away the first Argo 100XR that I ever owned. This one is MINE! Haha. I hope to have it for a long time. And as long as I do, I will sing about it.
