St Michael's Lent–Introduction

To discover St. Michael's Lent, we listen to the beginning of the consideration on the Stigmata of St. Francis, found in The Little Flowers of St. Francis; in which the saint informs his companions that the fast of St. Michael's Lent is approaching. Let us prepare to consecrate ourselves to St. Michael by means of observing the 40 days between the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (August 15th) and The Dedication of the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel (Sept 29th) by praying the Chaplet of St. Michael; found here: (https://mothersforpriestsdotorg.files.wordpress.com/2022/06/cm9-chaplet-of-saint-michael-the-archangel.pdf) …and taking on some form of penance. Consider this penance less than that of Lent, and more akin to that of Advent. During this time, we will have devotions in the church on Tuesdays, with an accompanying video for those following along at home. When we get to the last 9 days, we will pray every day in the church with an accompanying daily video for the novena to St. Michael. At the end, we will make the consecration.
