Growing tensions between Yemen’s Houthi
Growing tensions between Yemen’s Houthi rebels and Israel are resonating in the oil-rich kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Riyadh fears being drawn into a new direct conflict with the Houthis, according to sources familiar with the Saudi government’s strategy, Blomberg reported. The Iran-backed group has threatened to attack the oil-rich kingdom over claims it’s waging economic warfare against them. Experts say Saudi Arabia faces tough choices given the “significant leap” in Houthis’ military capabilities since 2015.
