Hey guys, this is Allen Pearson, AKA Gamerdad216 here. Welcome to my video! On this channel, in case you didn't already know, I post videos of me playing various games, usually by myself, but occasionally with my family and friends. Hopefully, I can give you a taste of these games that I play before you decide to go out and buy them, give you a little bit of recon on new and old releases, you know what I mean?
Beyond that, what I'm doing here is about leaving something behind for my children, and maybe my children's children, something that they can look back fondly upon as good memories, times spent with their family, as well as any lessons that you might be able to get from that. It's not just about the games, and this is coming from an avid gamer! More than anything else, it's about creating those foundational memories, and making them as positive as possible. Maybe you end up playing, for example, a really gory game with your 12 year old child, or something like that. Gore is bad? Yep, sure is, especially for little kids. But, if you're the one that's imprinting that experience upon them, you can guide them better, tell them how and whatfor, show them that it's just a game, and neutralize any negative impact these types of things might have upon them in the future, allowing you to actually be able to have a good time with your family playing games without worrying about it doing any adverse damage to them. Of course, I'm not telling you to run out and go buy Doom: Eternal or something and immediately start having your six year old watch you explode demons on the screen! No, of course not! But what I am saying, is that it's inevitable that at some point, maybe when they're much too young, that your children are eventually going to see such things. And if you're there to guide them, you can help them and be a parent like you should be. It all comes down to time spent with your kids, and if you don't involve them in the things you love to do, how are you supposed to spend time with them? I absolutely love gaming, and want to share that love with my family. Keep that in mind for yourself and the rest of YOUR family in the future. You'll be better off, trust me.
