GE bottom freezer ice maker is a easy on and or off process.

Little teacher demonstrates how to turn off and then how to turn on the ice maker.

Note if the water is going to be off for more than an hour, turn off the ice maker. The ice maker will
thump, as it tries to call for water. This will save the unit from damage.
