Max Miller Live Part 1

Thomas Henry Sargent (21 November 1894 -- 7 May 1963), better known by the stage name Max Miller -- the Cheeky Chappie - was a British front-cloth comedian who was top of the bill in variety in the 1930s, '40s and '50s. He made films, toured in revues and music hall, and sang and recorded songs, some of which he wrote. He was known for his flamboyant suits, his wicked charm, and his risqué jokes, which often got him into trouble with the censors.

I knew a very nice lady called Mary Dozin about 40 years ago in Wimbledon. She often mentioned her husband Ivan  and had told me he was the conductor of a theatre orchestra. Well here he is!! I would have more questions for Mary but I moved away in '76 and I see that she died in 1993 and Ivan in 1997. For a picture of Ivan - Google images  - "The Last Night at the Met ." (I htought Mary called him Ivor and it sounds as if Miller does too - Ivor Dozen!)
