This guided Yoga inspired MOBILITY workout is an accessible way to explore ranges of motion and gain body awareness.

Using a STABILITY BALL makes the workout more challenging because of the unstable surface. The difficulty in maintaining control and fluid movements requires greater core engagement. Even with limited repetitions, you'll notice how tiring this workout can be because of the body engagement and focused attention.

Using a CHAIR in place of a ball allows beginners to work the same exercises with greater stability and safety. This is the best option for beginners or those working with limitations and restrictions because you can focus your full attention on your breathing, how your body is moving, and to what end ranges. These exercises can also be done without a chair, but the elevated surface protects the back from fatigue and injury.

Both versions allow for deep stretching while warming up the body and getting the blood flowing.

I find this kind of workout is perfect for me on a Sunday, where I can move slowly and gently, or play and explore more than have a specific goal of time, reps, or calories in mind. And when I'm done, I might just be ready to go back to bed for a little siesta. I also really love the stability ball because it brings that element of play into my movement. As you can see, I love bouncing on it from the very beginning of the video!

Workout Breakdown:
5-10 repetitions per move. Rest as needed.

Seated Warrior to Reverse Warrior to Triangle
Standing Thread Through
Child's Pose to Camel
Seated Oblique Crunches
Seated Twists
T-Spine Twists
Child's Pose to Updog* (advanced move, does not translate to chair for greater stability)
