How to Turn a Goblet (or Chalice) from a Log | Beginner Making a Thing

For a few days I didn't have a project, so got a woodturning withdrawal and needed to make something.  Finally, I decided to make a goblet, as it is both interesting and challenging to do: it has spindle turning part (for the outside), detail turning for the stem, and the bowl carving for the cup.  The last part is the most complicated and was actually the main motivation for me for the project.  I really need practice with bowl turning... or cup turning.  Overall, it took around 3 hours (or 4 if you consider overhead of prepping the blank) and the result is absolutely gorgeous.  And the end conculsion is that it is not that complex project and you can certainly do it, if you have a few tools.  I could probably do most of it just using scrapers (regular or carbide tools), but I was just practicing with the tools I had, so may look more complex that it should.  So, hope this video will inspire you to do your goblet or goblet looking object.
