This video focuses on Aristotle's work, the Nicomachean Ethics, and examines his discussion of the intellectual virtue of Nous, a term translated in a variety of ways - Intellect, Intelligence, Understanding, or Intuition being some of the more common.
Nous, according to the anthropology/psychology of knowledge outlined in book 6, involves the grasp of first principles that other intellectual virtues/modes of knowing then focus upon. Aristotle connects Nous particularly with scientific knowledge (episteme), and maintains that both of them are integrated in wisdom (sophia).
