Basbosa Belqeshta (Basbousa with Cream) – 2020
The film discusses the dialectical relationship between a political prisoner and his jailer. It uses the intricate human dimensions of this relationship as a means to summarize the physiological conflict between them, thus revealing, through the internal conflict, one of the oppressive authority’s tools (the jailer) and his job role which requires him to break and be violent toward the other (the prisoner), as well as showing the jailer’s humane side and the simplicity of his psyche.
The film received the Diamond Award for the best short film, and the Bronze Award for the best scenario at the European Independent Film Award (EIFA).
The film is starring Hesham Abdelhamed and Mohamed Shouman. The story and screenplay is written by Ahmed Zain, directed by Obada Albaghdadi, and produced by A to Z.

يتناول الفيلم جدلية العلاقة بين السجين السياسي والسجان ويتخذ من الأبعاد الإنسانية المتشابكة في تلك العلاقة سبيلا لتلخيص الصراع النفسي بين الطرفين، ليكشف من خلال تفاعل الصراع الداخلي أحد أدوات السلطة القمعية (السجان) ودوره الوظيفي الذي يتطلب عنفا وتحطيما للطرف لآخر (السجين)، وبين إنسانية هذا السجان وبساطة تكوينه النفسي.
الفيلم حاصل على الجائزة الماسية لأفضل فيلم قصير والجائزة البرونزية لأفضل سيناريو من المهرجان الأوروبي للأفلام المستقلة
