Maharshi Kapila is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and he is the foremost of the teachers of wisdom on this planet. The doctrine emerging from Kapila is the ancient most teaching of wisdom, it is parallel in its depths to other most sacred scriptures such as Bhagavad Gita and even the Vedas. The teaching is recorded as a catechism between Kapila as the Master and his mother Devahuti as the disciple. His mother was the only student to him at that time, but he taught keeping in view the humanity at large. His life and his teachings are described in the Bhagavata Purana by Veda Vyasa.
