Alison Pearson, was put on trial for witchcraft in 1588, she confessed full and her confession is one of the most detailed of the time and importantly it would seem that there was no torture or persuasion in gaining the woman’s confession. Her life story was given freely. Pearson was born in Fife in the year 1553, of her parents and family very little is known. She had a relation named William Simpson, who became an incredibly important figure in her life. At the age of 12, Alison would have her first encounter with the creatures from the old world, the faeries.  Alison went with a merry band of faeries and entered the world of the fae.  These trips to the faerie realm would become a common occurrence as the years past, it would seem that by joining them that night the girl had made a pact with the spirits of the old religion. She would later go on to become the private healer for the Bishop of St Andrews, Patrick Adamson. Before being put on trial for witchcraft.
