Well guys, I have some really sad news for you today. This is definitely not a video I wanted to make, and im sure you guys are going to be very disappointed to hear this. But the time has come, and the Legend of Genji series has officially been cancelled.

So some of you guys were probably wondering where my videos on the Legend of Geji were… Well sadly there was just nothing to cover. The series came to an end and the team went pretty much silent. Zero updates on the comic or the animated videos and nobody knew what was going on…
Well we finally know what now happened. With the news of the new Earth Avatar Series coming out in 2025, set after Korra, the team has given up. Now i’m not sure if the decision to quit the series is directly related to that news, but the timing matches up, so maybe that was the final straw? Im not sure… But I will read to you their statement on the end of the series, and what comes next for the Legend of Genji series…
The statement goes:
A MESSAGE FROM THE TEAM
FOR 4 YEARS, THE GENJI TEAM HAS WORKED HARD TO DREAM
up A NEW AVATAR STORY. WE'RE PROUD TO HAVE PLAYED A
SMALL ROLE IN KEEPING THE FANDOM ENTERTAINED WHILE
THE AVATAR CREATORS TOOK A BREAK FROM THE FRANCHISE.
WITH SO MUCH EXCITING NEW AVATAR CONTENT AROUND THE
CORNER (INCLUDING A NEW EARTH AVATAR SERIES), WE'RE
READY TO TAKE A STEP BACK AND FOCUS ON OUR OWN
CAREERS, FAMILIES, AND ORIGINAL WORKS.
OUR TEAM MEMBERS ARE STARTING FAMILIES, PURSUING
HIGHER EDUCATION, AND OTHERWISE MAKING EXCITING STRIDES
IN THEIR CAREERS. GENJI'S SUCCESS OPENED up SO MANY
DOORS FOR uS, AND WE CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR THE
PART YOU PLAYED IN OUR GROWTH AND CREATIVE

I don’t about you guys, but i’m really sad to hear this. I felt so much ambition and hope from the team, and to see it come to an end like is just sad. I don’t know if the team got burnt out, or just lost their passion for the story, but there it is. that is the end of Genji…. What do you guys think about this news? I’m hoping that in some way the story of Genji can be adapted into the Earth Avatar series, obviously not directly, but a few nice nods to the sandbenders would be great…
