Depreciation Double Declining Balance

The double- declining balance method uses the book value at the beginning of the year x depreciation rate which is double the straight-line, either (i) 2 x the straight-line rate or (ii) 2 / useful life. The depreciation rate is constant but the book value declines each period  resulting in a decreasing deprecation expense over the asset's life.
