What is "Shared Experiences" in Windows 10
This allows apps on cross-devices like smartphones, laptops, tablets, home media centers to communicate with each other.
Microsoft's Shared experiences feature allows a task started on one device to be continued on another device. This is useful for cross-communication of Android and Windows 10 devices.
Your Phone is a typical app that requires this feature. If you want to see the notifications, sms, calls on your phone in your laptop, then Shared Experience settigs have to be enabled.
By default this is ON.
But to improve speed on certain versions of Windows 10 like 1809, 1903, you can disable this feature. If your computer or laptop is single-use device, then it's no use for Shared experiences. Better disable it.
Then, when required, you can enable it again.
Similarly, if you want to send web pages from Microsoft Edge or Chrome on Windows 10 to Android, you need to enable this feature. This was started in Oct 2016 and continues in the 20H2 update.
Method #1 - Using Windows Settings
Open Settings - System - Shared experiences
You can move the slider to right or left.
This will enable or disable the feature in Windows 10.
Method #2 - Group Policy Editor
Open Group Policy Editor.
Follow this path -
Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates - System - Group Policy
On the right-hand side, double click the setting - Continue experiences on this device.
Then check the enabled or disabled according to your requirement.
Method #3 - Using Registry Editor
Open regedit and navigate to the following path.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
You can just copy this path and paste in the search box of Registry Editor.
Then create System folder and DWORD (32-bit) value key.
Name the key EnableCdp and enter 1 to enable Shared Experiences in Windows 10.
Enter 0 to disable it.
