How To Create Drop Down List And Display Different Values In MS Excel
Dropdown lists in excel is an outstanding feature to increase efficiency in excel. Usually, a dropdown list allows you to create a dropdown menu, and you can select values from it. But in this advanced excel tutorial, I'm about to go a step further. I'll use VBA, VLOOKUP & Dropdown lists combinedly to display a value based on the dropdown list.
Suppose you are creating an invoice and have a dropdown list with the product name. You need to create a conditional dropdown list in excel. So that dropdown list automatically changes product name to code and make your work effortless. In this excel tutorial, we are about to do just that.
We are going to use an excel dropdown list to display a different value.

Now let's follow the instruction below to display data based on a dropdown list in excel:
There are three parts to this tutorial, and they are as follows:
1. Create a Named Range: Here, you need to create a named range for your data set. You'll need to select the entire data table from where you need to extract your dropdown list's value. In the Name box, write a name for your desired range. The name box is located at the top left corner of your worksheet. Remember to select the full data table, including the titles.

3. Now it's time to kick in the VBA, and inside the VBA, I'll use Vlookup.
The procedure is simple. Right-click on the "Sheet" tab and then click on the "view code." After that, paste the code. Code is available at this link: www.patreon.com/posts/44515349
Inside the code, you need to do some modifications and done.
Now, whenever you select a name from your dropdown list, it will display the product code. You can also convert product name to product price using the same technique.
