Major scandals are currently being published in American and British newspapers concerning the Facebook platform. The scandals involve confessions found in court documents stating that “Facebook” allowed “Netflix” to read users’ private messages without their knowledge or consent. The collaboration between the two platforms on this issue has been ongoing for more than 10 years to date (since 2011).

Netflix wanted to know what was going on inside the messages that no one could read in order to design better content for its movie and series viewers by publishing what suits their taste, according to what was published in a lawsuit.

In return, Netflix would provide a report to Facebook every two weeks on how its users interact on its platform so that there would be mutual cooperation between them in information."

As for additional information on this topic, there have been allegations that Facebook and Netflix had a “special relationship” and entered into a series of agreements to share user data for nearly a decade, starting in 2011. According to a lawsuit filed on March 23, Facebook allegedly provided Netflix with access to users’ personal messages since 2011 so that the platform could better select content. It’s also mentioned that in 2011, Netflix announced a Facebook integration to share user data internationally
