Power in the entertainment business
Power in the entertainment business is fascinating.
Because it shifts, like sheen on a silken cloth, from one person to another, from Friday to Friday. It's easy to recognize but hard to define - is power the ability to get a project greenlit? Or the freedom to refuse work that doesn't fire your soul? Or perhaps just, get your phone calls returned?
For the FC - Ormax Power List, we teamed up with Ormax Media to identify the most powerful people in Indian entertainment. The list covers five verticals - directors, actors, producers and studios, music talent and talent behind the camera. The list has been created by combining research methodology with editorial curation.
The work that was taken into consideration covers films, shows and music released until 2023. Please note that the names aren't ranked but listed alphabetically.
Storytelling is a collaborative art form. Unlike in business or sports, it's harder to dissect success here or speak in absolutes. But these are the players shaping pop culture and therefore, our world.

About The Channel:
The Film Companion is a web channel intended to promote Indian cinema through films review, interviews, discussions, video essays, and analytical compilations.
