1997-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ Manual Transmission Swap: Overview
Everything you need, and need to know. AW4 to AX-15 or NV3550.
If you have any questions about any of this, don’t hesitate to just ask in the comments. Worst case scenario, I don’t know the answer. Note that I’m not as intelligible with older, pre-1996 years, but I might be able to help. If you’re asking a question be sure to please specify what year you have, as there are tons of seemingly unimportant differences with every model year.

Bryant Sapp worked night and day researching and exploring the NV3550 Swap in his 2000 XJ; the FlexJ. He used parts mostly sourced from a TJ and has been tremendously helpful in figuring this all out. With his help, I was able to create this document which lays everything out in text, and in a bit more detail: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1s...
