Pokuri Baburao was born to Seshaiah and Nageswaramma in Trovagunta village , seven kilometers away from Ongole in Prakasam district . He has two younger brothers and one younger sister. He studied till the fifth standard in his native village. His father is his inspiration. His father rose step by step from a simple farmer to a big tobacconist, theater owner and hotel proprietor. Baburao joined Ongolu PVR High School for his higher education. He used to walk from his hometown to Ongole every day. On the way, film discussions were often held with his friends. He completed his 10th standard there.

His mother used to sing devotional songs and hit movie songs in her spare time. He used to join his voice while listening to them attentively. That's how he got the art from his mother. In school, teachers used to sing songs by him. Sankranti plays were performed in his village. His uncle Venkateshwarlu used to act in plays. With his inspiration, Baburao became interested in acting in plays. Unable to cope with his struggle, his uncle once cast him as a postman in a play.

He studied PUC in Vijayawada. He did his B.Com degree in CSR Sharma College, Ongole. His classmate there was T. Krishna. Krishna liked him mostly because of his singing skills. T. He was the secretary of the cultural department of Krishna College. Plays were staged in college anniversaries and farewell gatherings. Krishna used to direct these dramas. Baburao played a minor role in the drama "Sambhawami Yuge Yuge". At the end of every year singing competitions are held in the college. Every year Krishna was selected as the best singer. Once Baburao was also selected as the best singer. Krishna won awards as a best actor and director at the college and university level. Once Baburao won the best actor award for the play "Paga". After leaving Krishna College, Baburao replaced him as the Secretary of the Cultural Department. Krishna recognized the art in him and introduced it to ten people and gave him an identity. [1]

After completing his college studies, Krishna went to Madras. He joined director Gutta Ramireddy as an assistant who was making the film "Talli Koothullu". Baburao maintained his friendship with Krishna through letters.

He did his M.Com from CRR College, Eluru. Later Nidavalu joined Andhra Bank . Later he was transferred to Ongolu. He used to participate in Andhrabank employees union affairs. Krishna did not like the atmosphere of Madras and returned. Krishna, he used to sing songs on the stages of Praja Natyamandali Ongole. In that process he met Nalluru Venkateswara Rao. At that time he was the District Secretary of "Praja Natyamandali" Prakasam. Madala Ranga Rao , T. Krishna , Baburao, Vande Mataram Srinivas were all Nalluru Venkateswara Rao's disciples.
