How to Blur Your Background on Google Meet

If you have a meeting to attend through Google Meet but don’t want your colleagues seeing your messy background, the background blurring feature could come in handy! Watch this video to learn how to quickly blur your background before joining a Google Meet call.

If you’ve been invited to a Google Meet call, simply click the link to the meeting from your email invite or Google calendar. If you’re starting a new meeting, go to meet.google.com. Then click Join or Start a Meeting. Type in a name for your meeting, then click Continue. A meeting window will then be opened. Here, before you actually join into the call you’ll see a preview of what your video feed looks like. You can adjust your video and audio settings, before you join. In the bottom right corner of the video preview window, you’ll find the blur background button.  Click that icon to instantly blur your background. After you have your background blurred out you can go ahead and join your meeting without worrying about your coworkers seeing a mess in your home office space.
