In 1995, José María Laguarta
In 1995, José María Laguarta and his son were the last active mattress makers in the city of Huesca, and during the last few years in Alto Aragón. They were descendants of a generation of basteros who had to apply their knowledge of wool to the manufacture of mattresses, when the use of caballerias in agricultural work was reduced. Thanks to them I was able to learn about this job of mattress making.
