Giant Eland Calves Born at Zoo Miami

There has been a “baby boom” at Zoo Miami! One of those recent births was a very rare Giant Eland, a male that was born on November 18th. The Animal Science team is very proud to announce that 2 more of these very rare antelope have recently been born! A female born on December 4th and a yet to be confirmed individual that was born on December 5th! All three of these beautiful antelope can be seen on their habitat daily and appear to be thriving. Giant Eland are the world’s largest antelope, and we are proud to say that Zoo Miami is the only AZA accredited zoo to house these magnificent animals!
