Making a red matjessalat yourself is really easy.
Now is herring season, because now the Dutch herring is back.
That's why we make a fresh red herring salad with beetroot, boiled eggs, cucumber and of course with the best herring fillets.
Ingredients:
Herring fillets
Beetroot
Red onions
Mayonnaise
Sour cream
dill
gherkins
pepper
possibly caraway (schnapps)
