Many are familiar with the Normandy American Cemetery but may not know that there were several smaller cemeteries that served as a temporary resting place for the fallen. One of those was Brig. General Teddy Roosevelt, who came ashore on Utah Beach on D-Day with the 4th Infantry Division. In this episode of American Artifact, we're exploring a few of these temporary cemeteries and looking at the story of a local woman who took it upon herself to care for the graves of the soldiers who had lost their lives fighting for the liberation of her country.
