Britons are eating less meat
Britons are eating less meat than at any point since the 1970s as the cost of living crisis and the rise of veganism and vegetarianism lowers demand.
Consumption at home fell 12.5 per cent to an average of 854g a week in the year to March 2022, down from 976g the previous year and 949g in the year before the pandemic, according to new figures.
TalkTV’s Julia Hartley-Brewer clashes with animal rights campaigner Nathan McGovern over plant-based diets.
She rants: “The majority of people in this country eat meat. Who the hell do you think you are?”
Nathan counters: “It’s just happening Julia, you have to deal with it!”
