Should I have bought a BMW R1250RT instead of an R1200GS?

I've borrowed a BMW R1250RT for a few days to review it and compare against my R1200GS whilst its having a service. I keep thinking I made a mistake buying the GS over the RT as I have no intention of off-roading. Is the BMW R1250RT the best sports tourer and will it be my next bike?
