I wanted to talk about the velvet room because it’s got a storied history. I wanted to answer the question of what is it. In modern persona the answer is super literal:

"A that place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter. It is a room that only those who are bound by a "contract" may enter. It may be that such a fate awaits you in the near future.”
But that doesn’t actually explain it very much. That line has been pretty much said verbatim since persona 1 but a lot of things about the room itself is a mystery, why does it exist, how does it exist, who made it, what inspired it and who can enter the room.
