Hi, folks! Welcome to "Yumio to Ohanashi (ユミオとオハナシ)," literally means "Chat with Yumio," an interview segment with English-speaking writers by a native Japanese guy.

This 29th episode features a screenwriter who got placements in notable screenwriting contests such as PAGE International and Academy Nicholl Fellowships, Adele Smaill (@TheArtOfCharts) from Australia. She briefly introduced herself, her latest accomplishments, how the pandemic changed her writing life, how she won contest placements, when discovering the joy of writing, "#firstpagefriday," her ways of character/dialogue compositions, and so on.

This time, I shared with her (and the viewers of this interview) why I decided to study screenwriting. If I didn't have Netflix and chose to watch THAT series four years ago, I might not have engaged in creative activity and run my "real name" Twitter account. Oh, before the interview, I got acne on my right cheek. Yet, since it's not an urgent issue, I did not cancel our interview. Just let it "live-action!"

I prioritized her interview since Adele recently helped Beta read my 112-page script and gave me helpful feedback to "trim more pages and speed up the story." Now, I'm ready for Slamdance and Shore Scripts. And folks, go dig Ursula K. Le Guin "The Language of the Night," Samuel R. Delany "Tales of Neveryon," and Iain M. Banks "Inversions."
