Woodturning - How to deal with a 'BORING' looking woodturning blank !!

In this video I take a pretty boring looking Maple blank and make a footed hollow form and attempt to jazz it up a bit with some texturing and colouring, I used a Saburr tooth bit in the Dremel and coloured it with spirit stains before adding a clear lacquer..
