Iceland Travel Day LGW to KFL | No.1 Lounge Gatwick using Priority Pass with AMEX Gold

This was our Travel Day to Reykjavik in Iceland for a 4 Night Trip. This was our first trip to Iceland and it didn’t disappoint, we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on the first night.
This was a package holiday all booked through EasyJet Holidays and the process was simple. We decided to upgrade our flights to the front row for “Extra Legroom” however as will be seen, this is not worth the money if you are on the plane type because there is a large wall in the way.
We both have AMEX Gold so we took the opportunity to try out the No.1 Lounge at Gatwick Airports North Terminal. We used this same lounge 12 months previously and they have cut the size of the seating area. This was not an issue on this occasion however we can see seating capacity being an issue during peak periods. Nevertheless, we felt it was a good offering with our Gold Card inclusive entrances. There was a good selection of typical breakfast bits, Full English, Croissants, Tea, etc. They did also have an open bar if you wanted something stronger, however neither of us are drinkers. The lounge also includes private toilets which is a bonus, and they were certainly much cleaner than they were 12 months previously. We enjoyed sitting and watching the planes. Do we necessarily think its worth £40 each, no. However, if you have a discount of included visits as part of a Credit Card then its well worth your time. It’s a lovely way to start the holiday.
We didn’t prebook we simply showed our Priority Pass (that we are sent when you get your AMEX Gold) and they simply scanned the amount of people we wanted to use and went into the lounge. Very easy to use, no issues from us.
We would give Priority Pass a 6/10, its by no means a lounge such as the Virgin Clubhouse which is just incredible, but its not bad either, especially when you compare it to some of the other lounges around the world that we have used Priority Pass with!
