The princess of Asturias, Princess Leonor, the heiress to the throne has attended his first public act of 2022. Princess along with King Felipe, Queen Letizia and Infanta Sofia visited the reception center for Ukrainian refugees located in Madrid on Sunday.
The Royal Family has arrived at the Reception, Welcome and Referral Center (CREADE), in the midst of applause and cheers.
After being received by the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration and the Secretary of State for Migration, they went to the Management building.
In the CREADE Management building, the General Director of Management of Reception, International and Temporary Protection Systems, the Director of CREADE, the Chief Commissioner, head of the Central Border Unit of the General Police Directorate, the Coordinator of the Spanish Catholic Association of Immigrants and the Coordinator of International Protection Centers; greeted the royal family.
After the greeting, they began a visit to the facilities. They visit the Management building, where they had a meeting with the Spanish Catholic Association of Immigrants; the facilities where the comprehensive care of people is carried out from their arrival to their integration. The royal family received first-hand briefing about the operation by officials.
In the building of the temporary reception residence, also called the Hotel, Royal family saw the accommodation and the Toy Library for the little ones.
The tour ended in the patio where a caravan from the NGO World Central Kitchen of chef José Andrés is installed.
Located in the Social Security Training Center and under the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, the CAR combines social care with the issuance of documentation by the Police, which allows Ukrainian refugees to obtain residence and work permits within 24 hours and gives them access to health and education, social support, housing and financial aid. It also provides information on the asylum application procedure and on general questions and doubts related to housing, social support and financial assistance.
The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration has set up four centers for the reception and care of Ukrainian refugees in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Alicante, Barcelona and Málaga.
Princess Leonor has opted for dark straight-cut trousers, which she has combined with a shirt, and paid tribute to the traditional Ukrainian blouse, just as the Queen did a few weeks ago after the outbreak of the war. As for her hairstyle, she has opted for a semi-updo.
Now, Leonor is in Spain in the middle of her vacations from spring-break, which began on Holy Thursday, April 14, and will end on Sunday 24. One day after her return to Wales, the heiress to the throne will resume her classes at the UWC Atlantic College, where she has been studying first year of high school since August 30 of 2021.
Before leaving for Wales, Leonor will fulfill another commitment, scheduled on the agenda of the Royal House. Next Wednesday, April 20, the Princess of Asturias will attend the Conference on Youth and Cybersecurity: Enjoy the Internet with Security, organized by the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE).
