Watching historic steam shovels in action 2, a look inside! A childhood dream come true!

Living out a childhood dream of watching vintage steam shovels in action and a view inside. We see Bucyrus Erie model 50B, & Marion steam shovels at work. The small dozer at the beginning is a Caterpillar D2. As a 3rd generation operator with more than 25 years of experience I can really appreciate the amount of work and maintenance it takes to operate these machines.

This has been a dream experience for me since my childhood. Something that has been on my list since reading Mike Mulligan and his steam shovel, "Mary Anne" by Virginia Lee Burton, as a child.

You can see these shovels and much more every Labor Day weekend at the Western Minnesota Steam Thrashers Reunion in Rollag, MN.. This is a fantastic show with endless attractions. I attended every day and still did not see everything!
