This weapon comes with the unique skill Blind spot, and is the only weapon class that can be equipped with the new Swift Slash Ash of War introduced in the DLC. The Backhand Blades description reads "Curved blade wielded with a backhand grip. A type of weapon wielded by hornsent for generations. The style of combat associated with this weapon is marked by spinning slashes and gouging thrust attacks." The Backhand Blades scaling is Strength(D) Dexterity(D) and requires Strength(10) and Dexterity(13) in order to be wieldable. The Backhand Blades can be infused with a variety of Ash of Wars, can be buffed by magic and consumables, and require regular smithing stones to reach an upgrade level of plus 25. The Ash of War by default is ''Blind spot'' and the FP cost of this kill is 9 per use. Running the Keen infusion allows for the weapon to receive an (S) tier scaling in dexterity, great for dexterity builds looking for swift and aggressive combat. The Backhand Blades default Ash of War is "Blind Spot" and its description reads "Leap into close quarters to take advantage of the enemy's blind spot and gore them from the side. Inputs determine which side you strike from. This attack slips below the opponent's guard." Blind Spot is a Skill in Elden Ring. It was added with the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Blind Spot allows the user to become a true assassin by attacking the blind spot of the target at high speed. Blind Spot uses Keen Affinity and is usable on backhand blades. Blind Spot contains invincibility frames during the dash, but these i-frames are very brief and hard to pull off skillfully. This is an Ash of War Skill, associated with the Ash of War: Blind Spot -FP Cost: 9 -Deals 10 Stance damage -This Skill is not Chargeable Upon activation, the user makes a quick dash to the side, before suddenly stabbing the enemy from the side. When locking onto an enemy, inputting the left or right movement key when using the weapon skill will move the user in said direction. The dash briefly grants 6 immediate invulnerability frames. The stab deals Pierce Damage, and thus is affected by the Spear Talisman. The stab also completely bypasses blocking, similar to the Piercing Fang weapon skill. The Backhand Blades deal slash/pierce damage type and you can get the Backhand Blade by picking up the item found at the foot of a sarcophagus inside the stone gravesite near eight spiral-patterned stone pillars in the field north of the Scorched Ruins in Gravesite Plain. To find the Backhand Blade location, travel north from the Scorched Ruins site of grace toward the spiral-shaped stone pillars. On the north end of the spiral pillars, is a stone gravesite with a sarcophagus inside it. Approach the sarcophagus and pick up the Backhand Blade and you're all set! Another Ash of War that i'd recommend over Blind spot if it is not to your liking is the Swift Slash Ash of War. To acquire the Swift Slash Ash of War one must complete the Horn Sent's quest line, by progressing Needle Knight Leda's quest line until you eventually reach Messmer's Keep. Interact with the summon sign and side with the Hornsent, and when the quest is over you will receive loot, one of which is the Swift Slash Ash of War. In this video i showcase how effective the Blind Spot Ash of War can be when combined with the I-frames that you get from the Fine Crucible Talisman, effectively showcasing stylish punish windows without taking damage vs. bosses with the DLC+ difficulty modifier added ontop of that. Talismans used for the most part were, Ritual Sword Talisman, Talisman of All Crucibles, Shard of Alexander, And Rotten Wing Insignia. #blackhaze231 #eldenringdlc #eldenringnodamage
