Although not a certified surveyor and mapmaker himself, Thomas Jefferson learned the skill from his father, Peter Jefferson. Indeed, the map of Virginia that Peter Jefferson created with Joshua Fry was the gold standard of maps for the area for fifty years.

Join us on Tuesday, April 26, at 1:00 p.m. ET for a live Q&A with Thomas Jefferson, interpreted by Bill Barker. We'll discuss Peter Jefferson's accomplishments, the development of the Jefferson-Fry map, and the importance of surveying as a skill.
