UIA insurance marks its 125th
UIA insurance marks its 125th year anniversary with the release of an exclusive survey of 5,000 people…what makes Brits tick in 2015? Compared to 125 years ago. The survey covers everything from home contents to everyday essentials.
To support the findings, Independent expert and Social Historian, Ruth Goodman (credits include BBC’s 24 hours in the past and Victorian Farm), highlights the comparisons between 2015 and the Victorian era with the top 10 most treasured items in 1890.
The national survey of 5,000 people willl identify, what we can’t live without, what everyday essentials we would be prepared to miss out on and what’s of most sentimental value compared to 125 years ago. It will also reveal the top 10 most treasured items in 2015 and top line stats including:
· 45% of us are not willing to give up our daily shower
· 46% of Brits think the internet is the most significant invention in the last 125 years
· 37% treasure our laptop above any other item
· 29% place a wedding band in the top 5 of our most treasured possessions
