Its first phase is called "Blue Line" and it was inaugurated on 4 March 2019. Now this metro is being expanded. Due to covid, the construction of the slow metro project has once again gained momentum.And it is expected that the first phase of Metro will start in August next year on the 75th year of independence, in which six and a half lakh people are expected to travel in the metro daily.
Now let us tell you that the work of building an underground station was the most challenging, which is about to be completed by four metro stations in the Walad city area.There will be underground stations. In the second phase of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project, the metro will run on two routes with a total length of 28.25 km. The first corridor will be from Motera Stadium which is now named Narendra Modi Stadium to Mahatma Mandir and its total length will be about twenty three kilo meters while the second corridor will be from GNLU to GIFT City and its total length will be about two and a half kilo meters. will be five kilometres. The total cost on these projects will come to five thousand three hundred and eighty four crores.The estimated cost of Surat Metro Rail Project with two metro rail corridors of total 40.35 km length is Rs.1120.32 crore.
