This is a tour of
This is a tour of the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, GA. When this hotel first opened in 1976, it was the tallest hotel in the world. It rises 73 stories. This is no longer the world’s tallest hotel (which the record now belongs to the St. Regis hotel in Chicago, IL, with 101 floors), but the Atlanta Westin is the tallest hotel I have ever been in my life! Also the tallest building I’ve visited in person since the Empire State Building in New York, NY, with 102 floors, which I last visited in 2011.
Here are the floors I will show to you in this video (in order):
Level 4: Motor Lobby
Level 5: Main Lobby
Level 6: Chastain Meeting Rooms
Level 7: Augusta Ballrooms & Meeting Rooms
Level 8: Peachtree Ballrooms & Meeting Rooms
Level 9: Savannah Ballrooms
Level 10: Fitness Center
Level 11: Pool (picture only)
Level 12: Piedmont Rooms
Level 14: Ansley Rooms
Level 50: Hotel Guest Room
Level 71: Sun Dial Restaurant
Level 72: Observatory
Level 73: Sun Dial Bar
The first 3 floors of this hotel (which are the basements) are not shown in this video as they are apparently for staff only, but everything else in this hotel will be shown.
Note that this video was filmed last month when I stayed in Atlanta.
One more thing, this hotel was struck by an EF2 tornado in 2008 and swayed back and forth about 2 feet as designed, and subsequently endured moderate damage. It took like 2 or 3 years for the building to get fully repaired.
