This place completely shocked me!
This place completely shocked me! Broadstairs is a real hidden gem situated on the Kent coast between Margate and Ramsgate. As the sun has decided to finally emerge, this is the place to go this Summer! In this 4K walking tour I’ll be taking you along the seafront, taking in the views and showing you all the things to see and do in this picturesque seaside town on the Isle of Thanet. It was my first visit and I’ll definitely be returning.
Walk with me as I explore three of the seven (!) beautiful sandy beaches that Broadstairs has to offer, walk along the clifftops, check out the quirky independent shops and art galleries on the charming Victorian streets and alleyways, get a beer at one of the many pubs near the harbour, try out the fish and chips and of course, as usual, get a coffee! This town was Charles Dickens’ favourite holiday destination and I visit the famous ‘Bleak House’ towering over Viking Bay, where he stayed in the 1800s and wrote ‘David Copperfield’ – there’s also the Dickens House museum to check out which contains a wealth of memorabilia. There really is something to do for all of the family.
Perfect for a day trip from London or a proper holiday, come and see why this spectacular town is one of the best places to visit in Kent!
