HAPPINESS & IT'S SCIENCE | மகிழ்ச்சியும்  & அதன் அறிவியலும் | Are you Happy? How? | Dr.Ashwin Vijay

சந்தோஷமா இருப்பதற்கும் மூளைக்கும் உள்ள தொடர்பு பற்றி விளக்குகிறார்
மருத்துவர் அஷ்வின் விஜய்,

Are you all happy? Want to know why I asked you?
There can be several reasons for our happiness, and our brain plays a major role in it. We cannot do anything about the external factors that contribute to our happiness. It's not in our hands. But we can definitely do it within ourselves. Our brain secretes certain hormones which can increase our chances of being happy naturally.
Our body and brain are in our control.
Our brain secretes four different chemicals dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphin. These are the four chemicals that directly contribute to being in a state of happiness.

Just like a cell phone or a software hack, you can hack your own brain. A good place to start is food. If you start eating these things at least 3 times a week, your brain hormone secretion levels go up.
Beetroot, coconut oil, fresh vegetables & greens, turmeric, and ginger should be included in your food. All these foods increase the level of brain hormones. Additionally, groundnuts can be added to your diet especially for young children in the age group 5-6 years. A recent study shows children eating groundnuts tend to be happier than other kids. It also boosts brain capacity.

Secondly, morning sun rays are very good for your health. Walking for at least 15 minutes in the morning between 6-8 AM will increase hormone secretion levels.
The third is my favorite. Exercise and move your body for 30 to 45 minutes 3 days a week. This will also help boost the secretion of brain hormones in your body.

Many of you have the intention to do a workout, but due to workload and a busy schedule, you skip it. You can even try combining your morning walks and working out if that is easy for you.
One more important thing is our habits. If you practice it, the positive feedback mechanism changes the way we perceive things and makes us happier.
Spending time with ones you love, your mother, father, kids whomsoever it may be. It may even be your pets. 15 – 20 minutes of focused quality time with your loved ones is good enough.
Secondly, complimenting others in our everyday life can also greatly improve the situation. By acknowledging and complimenting your brain enforces the positive mechanism thereby directly increasing dopamine secretion.
You can also watch comedy for 15-20 mins or have some fun with your friends every day.
Above all, being kind also plays a major role in secreting these chemicals and it is a proven fact.

Lastly, try completing a task which you have committed. Make it a habit to complete the task you undertake. Your brain will reward your body with dopamine and oxytocin.
If you do all this you can be happier than you are today. We have no control over the external factors that happen in life. But you can do achieve it with your body. Hack your brain to be happy.
Hope this post will be helpful to you all.
Thank you
