Located in Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture, this extremely thrilling and challenging mountain has been the site of accidents involving people falling off in the past.
The highest peak is Nyudo-dake at 1,778m above sea level, and this is what we are aiming for this time.
It is one of the three Echigo mountains along with Echigo-Komagatake and Nakano-dake, and is also one of Japan's 200 most famous mountains.
Will we be able to overcome the jagged peaks of the crazy rocky area, the "Yatsumine", and reach the summit?
This is a record of a mountain climb in September 2023, and was taken during the season when the leaves begin to change color.
Hakkai-san's opening ceremony is held on the last Sunday of June.
