Azithromycin - Mechanism of Action | Pharmacology | Biochemistry

Azithromycin is one of the most widely prescribed antibiotics in the world. It is on the WHO's list of Essential Medicines. It was synthesized in 1980 by a group of researchers at Pliva, a pharmaceutical company based in Zagreb, Croatia. Later, Pliva was acquired by Teva Pharmaceuticals of Israel, the world's largest manufacturer of generic medicines.
